Noble Dacian Warrior, late 1st century AD, early 2nd century AD

Dacian warrior belonging to the elite of the Dacian heavy infantry, late 1st century AD, early 2nd century AD. Digital paint. This Dacian nobleman, due to his social status, is equipped with the full Dacian panoply: Phrygian-type helmet with scale cheekpieces and neck covers, chain mail armor, oval shield and a Falx as offensive weaponry. It was a sword with a curved blade typical of the Dacian troops, greatly feared among the Roman ranks for its tremendous destructive capacity. So much so that the Roman troops were forced to adapt their equipment and their way of fighting to face the Dacians.
