3rd century AD Roman Legionary

This legionary is equipped with a Niederbieber type helmet typical of the late 2nd and 3rd century AD. It is also protected with a lorica hamata and an oval almost circular shield, which was replacing the early imperial tile shields. The spatha appears already hanging on the left side, unlike the early empire and the republican era.
