Alexander the Great

Alexander the Great. King of Macedonia, hegemon of Greece, pharaoh of Egypt and great king of Media and Persia.356-323 B.C. Digital painting. I depicted Alexander on the back of his horse Bucephalus, accompanied by some members of the Macedonian cavalry which he commanded. Behind them are the pikes of the Macedonian phalanx, known as "sarisas", which could be up to 7 metres long. I decided to depict Alexander wearing a Thracian helmet, which was widely used in the Macedonian army, decorated with a crest, feathers and a bronze laurel wreath. He is also protected by linothorax armour. His companions, on the other hand, wear helmets of the Boeotian type, very typical of Macedonian cavalry. The horseman on the right also wears a Boeotian helmet, but a different model from the others. The horseman with the red cloak, unlike the others, is protected by a muscular bronze cuirass.
